Can anyone spot the rarity on this tag?
It's from my dad's old 1967 SS/RS Camaro. The car is now located somewhere near Brisbane. I miss this car :(
EDIT*
This makes me even more sad. This post was about my dad's even more rare 1969 Z28 Camaro..

I will give you a clue... it has to do with the paint code hahaa and thanks!

I always thought GM paint codes were numbers followed by a letter. Unless that doesn't apply in 67...

I'm a huge Camaro guy owning both a 68 RS/SS and a 98 SS. I just went ahead and decoded the entire cowl tag since I have fun doing it. luckily 67's had the best trim tags, 68s are worthless with no real good info and 69's are very cryptic differed between plants,
04A- First week of April 67
ST 67-12637 - 67 coupe with deluxe interior
TR 765-Z - Black deluxe with standard front buckets
LOS - 18774 - Van Nuys, California plant and body # 18774
D616 - Fisher body number D is the 4th day of the build month and its the 616 body built that day
Paint 0-0 - Special color car (that's rare) meaning the car was originally painted a non Camaro color, could be another GM color, I know of a 69 Z28 that's like this.
W - tinted windshield
2M - Powerglide transmission, 2G - floor console, 2R - rear speaker
3s - interior décor package, 3D - courtesy lamps (under dash), 3L - Rally Sport
4P - Super Sport
-L187A? - I haven't seen that before. the only 67's I know that have something there are the pace cars. So I am guessing it has something to do with the car being part of a fleet since its also a special paint car.

I think that means a special order paint color or scheme. Was Hugger not a stock Camaro color in 67? Or is that not Hugger Orange?

For 1967-68 model year they were letters, like A-A, and in the 1969 model year they were just numbers like 7-1.

It is not hugger orange, its a different shade, and we have no idea what the original color was!

Hugger orange was only a 69 color.

Here we go! You hit it on the head! Yeah I am a huge Camaro guy as well, grew up building a 1969 Z28 JL8 optioned car, and have helped build 2 other 1967s and a 1970 1/2. We don't know the original color, if it was this orange or it just came out of the factory primered, it could of been a COPO order, who knows!

Yup, I was just going to say that.

Could be but just for a fleet order not a factory hot rod like the 69's. Very cool and rare 69 Z28. true factory JL8 cars are hard to find. My 68 was my first car completely restored it. My grandpa and I have flipped a few first gens mainly 67's, two v8 coupes and a I6 convertible. My 68 is a rare L30/M20 car or the phantom SS cars. currently I think only 14 cars have been confirmed. Here is a pic

Whoa! That is beautiful! My dad was just telling me about that option, how they were basically SS just without the badging. Check this post I found the other day about my dad's old car. http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthr…

So were LM1's in '69.
Also a cool special order:

yeah they were basically. the had the ss suspension, big difference is they has single exhaust std and duals was a option. they were really close in e/t's with a ss 350 car.
wow that's quite the story on your 69! sucks it got stolen.

RS SS with a powerglide? Unfortunate combination.

actually fairly common combo in a small block car.

I love Camaros, I own a black '13 1LT. I don't know as much about them as some of the guys here, but that's a seriously impressive car. I'm surprised at how well the orange works for it. I want it ... unfortunately I don't have the money, nor will I any time soon probably.

You might have been able to find out by removing a fender or something. My 71 Camaro still has the original gold paint hidden by the fenders. Eventually it's going to go back to gold with black stripes.

In response to how sad you are about the '69 JL8 Z/28, here's a link to a forum thread about a '69 Judge that my dad used to own. Apparently it stayed local, has the same license plates, and we sold it I want to say over a decade before this...
